We know there are a lot of concerns about the spread of the Corona Virus, even in our little corner of New Hampshire. In this post, we will share with you the steps we are taking to protect your health at the gym, and some plans we have in place as we move forward.Swift River CrossFit makes your health and safety our priority every day. Given the recent health crisis, we want you to know that we support you and have your safety in mind. As of today,we remain OPEN and here to serve your fitness needs at the gym.As we all consume information across a wide range of outlets including the media, vendors, and social media channels, it is vital for all of us to remain aware and responsive to the ever-changing status of the COVID-19 outbreak. Rest assured, we are in contact with health officials and others in our industry and we continue to monitor the situation. We encourage you to seek guidance from health agencies for up-to-date information:The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services COVID -19 pageThe latest updates from the WHO on the virusThe WHO’s recommendations for the public to reduce exposureA live-tracker of the spread of the disease from Johns Hopkins University.
Please take note that we have been, and continue to do the following:
-ask our members to stay home if they are sick, or if a family member is sick
-guide members in cleaning all equipment they use during class
-in addition to our regular cleaning, our staff has been spot cleaning while they coach, and in between classes, frequently wiping door handles, light switches and frequently touched areas of the gym.
- we have also extended our cleaning protocols regarding bathrooms and equipment between classes.
-we have removed our check-in kiosk and coaches are checking members in to class
Our regular cleaning has more than doubled over the past week. As a micro gym, we are in a unique position. We know what pieces of equipment are used during our workouts, and we have been diligent (with your much appreciated help) in making sure everything is wiped down after each use. This would be next to impossible in a traditional gym.
The good news..You've done everything you can to prepare yourself for a sickness. You've taken care of yourself, you eat well and you're tough as nails. Corona virus is worried about YOU.
PLANS MOVING FORWARD
You are our comunity, our tribe and we will not stop coaching or training you. For the short term, if you are going to limit your time in the gym, we got you covered! Beginning Monday, there will be an SRCF at Home track in Sugar WOD, where you will find daily HAM plan workouts. You will have option to pick from a body weight only workout, or a minimal equipment workout that requires only a dumbbell and a jumprope. This additional programming is being offered at no charge to all of our members who are on a recurring monthly membership. We want to keep you working out, even in the event that we have to shut down temporarily. We are working on an online coaching option, that will allow us to leverage technology to deliver you a personalised coaching experience. You don't pay just for access to a facility, you pay for coaching. And we can still deliver great coaching online. We ask you all to continue to support small businesses like us during this time.We will continue to update as things change and the situation develops. For now we are OPEN for business and hope that it remains safe to stay open. Rest assured we will not leave you high and dry. You're a person who works out.
